JOURNEYMAN PLUMBER

Platinum Mechanical is looking for an experienced and personable journeyman plumber. The journeyman plumber will be required to diagnose and resolve problems pertaining to residential and commercial water and HVAC systems, which might include leaks, obstructions, and weather damage.   We are looking for plumbers who have a track record of providing services in a professional, courteous manner and have excellent troubleshooting, diagnosis and decision-making skills. 

Journeyman Plumber Responsibilities:

  • Locating leaks, breaks, blockages, corrosion, and weather damage in water and HVAC features.

  • Provides customer with clear description of work required and estimated costs before commencing work.

  • Assemble, install, maintain, and pressure test all pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, drainage, sprinkler, and gas systems according to specifications and plumbing codes.

  • Determine sources of plumbing malfunctions and complete repairs as indicated or according to work orders.

  • Locate and mark positions for connections and fixtures.

  • Install and repair pipes, fittings, valves, fixtures, and plumbing system equipment, including sinks, commodes, water heaters, water softeners, etc.; install supports and hangers for pipe, fixtures and equipment.

  • Plan, install and service plumbing systems, fixtures, piping equipment and controls; test pipe systems and fixtures for leaks.

  • Repair dishwashers and kitchen equipment that incorporate gas or water consumption.

  • Receive and complete work orders.

  • Select material and hardware and make time and materials estimates.

  • Maintain accurate records on material and labor used.

  • Maintain inventory of district-owned tools, equipment, and materials.

  • Inspect jobs upon completion and ensure areas are clean.

  • Consulting with clients to identify and address any other concerns related to their water and HVAC systems.

  • Advising clients on appropriate care for their water and HVAC systems.

  • Observing pertinent health and safety regulations.

Journeyman Plumber Requirements:

  • Successful completion of an appropriate, formal training program or apprenticeship.

  • Licensed to practice as a Journeyman Plumber in either Washington or Idaho

  • Familiarity with all relevant techniques and tools needed to perform your duties.

  • Exceptional physical fitness and hand-eye coordination.

  • Capacity to operate independently.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Outstanding customer service skills.

  • Willingness to avail yourself beyond normal working hours.

DRAIN CLEANING TECHNICIAN

Platinum Mechanical is looking for an experienced and personable Drain Cleaning Technician. The Drain Cleaning Technician is able to clear clogs from various types of drains and pipes such as floor drains, sinks, tubs, and toilets, has proficiency and experience with electric snakes, high-velocity water jets, sewer cameras for inspecting drain lines and other tools, is able to fix frozen lines and steam thawing.

The Drain Cleaning Technician will also maintain a safe work environment by following company rules and any state or local policies and has the ability to effectively communicate with customers, recommend solutions and provide estimates and descriptions of all estimated costs before commencing work.

Drain Cleaning Tech Responsibilities

  • Build strong customer relationships; build knowledge and understanding of new and existing customer needs/expectations.

  • Provides preventive instruction on plumbing systems.

  • Troubleshoots plumbing problems and provides solutions.

  • Performs related work as assigned.

  • Repairs or replaces plumbing fixtures, or systems as needed.

  • Provides options for remodel requirements in residential applications.

Drain Cleaning Tech Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice as a Drain Cleaning Technician in either Washington or Idaho

HVAC INSTALLER

Platinum Mechanical is looking for an experienced and personable HVAC Installer. The HVAC Installer will be required to diagnose and resolve problems pertaining to residential and commercial HVAC systems.  We are looking for HVAC Installers and Technicians who have a track record of providing services in a professional, courteous manner and have excellent troubleshooting, diagnosis and decision-making skills. 

HVAC Installer Responsibilities:

  • Perform installation of HVAC related equipment following company policies and manufacturer’s specifications

  • Carry out wiring of both low and line voltage to cooling and heating equipment

  • Perform installation of copper refrigerant lines to air conditioning units, including brazing and soldering

  • Perform installation of flex and sheet metal duct systems in light commercial and residential buildings

  • Ensure connection of gas lines to heating equipment is properly done

  • Determine the right material needed for installation work by pre-measuring jobs

  • Receive all materials and equipment required for each job, confirm and load them into company vehicle

  • Provide necessary support to other team members to be able to complete tasks on time as instructed by management

  • Create and maintain cordial and collaborative working relationships with both superiors and co-workers

  • Ensure all paperwork needed for each job is accurately filled out

  • Carry out readings on machines with the full understanding of the implication of such readings

  • Ensure assigned company vehicle is kept clean

  • Perform any other duty that may be directed by management.

HVAC Installer Requirements:

  • Proven work experience as an HVAC Installer or similar role

  • Current driver’s license and ability to drive a company vehicle

  • Required state licensing for HVAC installer or technician

  • Certification or associate’s degree from an HVAC program at a technical school

  • Possess effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills

  • Must have an honest and dependable personality

  • Strong mechanical aptitude

  • Self motivated individual with strong ability to follow instructions and work alone, as well as work effectively within a team

  • Ability to display professional company image

  • Ability to pass a background check for criminality

  • Ability to lift items weighing up to 100lbs safely

  • Strong ability to operate under severe temperature condition of 120 or more for long periods of time

  • Ability to work on weekends, at night, and to work overtime

  • Ability to climb, stoop, balance, crouch, crawl, or/and kneel continually.
